To promote the synergy between different types of energy, and to raise awareness of Total with universities and among talented students worldwide, Total is launching an energy management simulation game during which students are invited to manage the energy mix of a virtual country.

The game can be found on www.totalgeniuscampus.com along with resources designed to educate students about sustainable energy management. The game can also be used in the classroom, to stimulate debate and interaction around technical and management issues, including;

·         budget and investment management

·         choice of energy sources and production units to fulfill the energy demand

·         stakeholder interaction, e.g. with government or special interest group representatives

·         decision making when faced with political and climatic events

Total is offering a range of prizes from stock portfolios worth up to €1,500 to a VIP weekend in Paris and places on Total's summer school. The winners will be the individual players and teams who have worked out the optimal energy mix and gained the highest scores, with additional prizes for the universities with the highest scoring teams.

Playing the game takes about 30 minutes and is open from October 31st to November 28th, 2011.
