Research Intern (Data Science)
We are seeking a paid research intern to work for Engie Research China in our Shanghai office. The internship is full time and well paid, and will take 6-12 months (start immediately preferred).
Requirements:
- Master student in Data Science or Computer Science;
- Programming skills such as Python, R, JavaScript, SQL;
- Deep knowledge and experience of data analytics, optimization, machine learning and artificial intelligence;
- Excellent written and good verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills to work in team environment;
Additional preferred set of skills:
- Experience of software development;
- Enthusiasm in applying data analytics in energy field;
Responsibilities:
- Conduct feature engineering and build models for data-driven energy applications;
- Integrate data analytics into planning, design and operations of energy systems;
- Work with engineering teams for AI and district energy R&D work;
- Participate in the development of data products for supporting decision making of engineers, urban planners, and government officials;
- Develop written products including research plans, reviews, project proposals and reports;
- Publish and present research outcomes at conferences, workshops, and industry events;

Research Intern (Energy Engineering)
We are seeking a paid research intern to work for Engie Research China in our Shanghai office. The internship is full time and well paid, and will take 6-12 months (start immediately preferred).
Requirements:
- Master student in Energy Engineering or an equivalent discipline;
- Knowledge and experience of building energy efficiency and HVAC systems;
- Be familiar with energy modeling tools, such as EnergyPlus, TRANSYS, EnergyPro;
- Excellent written and good verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills to work in team environment;
Additional preferred set of skills:
- Advanced knowledge of district energy (heating, cooling, and power) systems;
- Understanding of district energy related design codes and standards;
- Experience with data analytics, optimization algorithms, machine learning and artificial intelligence;
- Programming skills such as Python, Matlab;
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis for estimating the boundaries and potentials of district energy systems;
- Conduct research for optimizing CAPEX and OPEX of district energy projects;
- Integrate data analytics into planning, design and operations of district energy systems;
- Work with engineering teams for district energy R&D work;
- Participate in the development of visualization tools for supporting decision making of engineers, urban planners, and government officials;
- Develop written products including research plans, reviews, project proposals and reports;
- Publish and present research outcomes at conferences, workshops, and industry events;
